Re: The Notebook v4.0

I'm surviving, haven't gotten infected, but I have to say that I can't wait for life to go back to normal. :O

Re: The Leweit Music Thread

That is most definitely not mine! I'm a bit sad, since I had the impression that Lee White was a rather unique name, despite consisting of two rather common names. There is another Lee White by the way! Apparently it's someone who made dance music in the 1920s, and you can find some of his music on ...

Re: The "I bought/got an album!" thread

Radiohead - The Bends Fantastic album. This album is often overlooked because OK Computer is arguably even better and a lot more iconic. But if it weren't for OK Computer, The Bends would be much more recognized as a groundbreaking album where every single song is an absolute masterpiece. Angèle - B...

Re: Genesis

I thought I had already posted about this, but apparently not. Foxtrot has been my number one album for quite a while, ever since Supper's Ready began seriously growing on me. You know how Spotify gives you a yearly list of your most listened to songs? Well, Supper's Ready was #1 for me in both 2018...

Re: The Leweit Music Thread

Maybe someday, but I have some other stuff I'd like to do first: 1. A secret project that consists of 10 covers. 4 songs are more-or-less done now. This project will stay secret until January 2021, but after that I will be sharing all the songs here. 2. An album called "Het joar van de mins" ("The Y...

Re: Kettles and Bacon (AHM Article)

I agree, AHM is their breakthrough in how they wanted to approach the experimental stuff. I think that their first albums were too much "out there". You could tell that they had amazing talent but the experimentation led to some music that was always going to be disliked by people who listen to main...

I just wanted to share that, after all these years, listening to Pink Floyd's Live 8 performance still leaves me absolutely speechless.

Crazy to think it has been 14 years since then.

Re: The Notebook v4.0

TIL that, apparently, Americans find the way Brits tell the time confusing. Specifically, I'm talking about phrases like "half six". I had never, ever thought that this could be ambiguous because these expressions are so ubiquitous in the UK. Apparently, to Americans "half six" instinctively means ...

Rocket League works both ways for me. Sometimes I play unranked games, and focus more on trying to be an airplane than a car. Then other times I play ranked games, and I'm pretty damn competitive. Zero skill, maximum effort. Concerning Zeldas, I think you and I are the same. I really appreciate Brea...

Re: The Leweit Music Thread

I have used Reaper as DAW, but used Melodyne's own interface for editing files. So, I actually edited the recordings inside Melodyne, saved the files, and imported those edited files into my Reaper project. It's a bit clumsy but gets the trick done. It is relatively easy to use, but don't expect any...

Man, I feel you. The French used this tactic to eliminate the Dutch language from their Northern region, and it worked. A great asset of culture and history completely erased from everyday life, for absolutely no reason. I'm not even French, but as a Dutch speaker this pisses me off immensely.

Re: The Gamer Thread

Been playing through the N. Sane Trilogy I gave up, it's too difficult. I now am in the same boat. Holy shit that first game is difficult. I agree with the comment Alec made. This first game uses the "learn by dying" mechanism quite heavily. You can only finish a level by first dying a hundred time...

Re: Post-upgrade to-do list

Two days down the road, we're still at 194 accounts. I have the feeling that it's working for now, so I will scratch that off the list.

Next up: a nicer looking theme. Also, at the implied request of Dyolf, I will do some extra testing to make sure it's not slower than the default one. :)

I have updated the registration page with a different bot filter. It's not great yet but it'll do until I find something fancier.

At the time of this post, the number of registered accounts is 194. We'll see how it goes the next days.
