Re: The Notebook v4.0

So after over a decade of being passed around from doctor to doctor, therapist to therapist, I got hooked up through a work program with a hella good specialist. We were able to determine that past diagnoses of my mental health (especially the bogus diagnosis of bipolar disorder) were incorrect, and...

Re: AWT Music Thread

I've mostly been cranking out video game remixes (mainly Sonic the Hedgehog remixes) all year, and it's been pretty fulfilling. I'm going to work more towards re-recording my old material and putting out a solid discography to represent me. There are probably three dozen songs of mine that I'm happy...

Re: DUNE - (Let the spice flow!)

The first Dune book was written around 10 or 12 years before Star Wars was released I believe. Frank Herbert (the author) literally went to college for ecology just so the planet of Arrakis would be realistic, which is some serious dedication. And ultimately, what I think gives Dune a bit more of a ...

Re: Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice & Fire)

I never read the books because I'm not much of a fantasy fan, but my condolences to all of you fans that got seriously blue-balled.

Re: DUNE - (Let the spice flow!)

I'm a HUGE science fiction nerd, especially classic sci-fi (Clarke, Asimov, the works), so it was great to see a sci-fi film that wasn't just Star Wars and felt like it's own vibe.

Re: Star Wars Episodes VII VIII & IX

Looks like the people in charge of adapting Isaac Asimov's sci-fi novel series Foundation took its cues from the Disney Star Wars films on how to be the biggest pieces of shit ever filmed. One of my favorite all-time novels, completely butchered in almost every way.

DUNE - (Let the spice flow!)

DUNE DUNE DUNE Here's to hoping that Dune can become the next big media franchise. At this point, I've only read the original book and have seen the new film in theaters, and I'm hungry for more melange. The book is a slow burn, but sooo worth it, and the film is beyond praise. As a life-long Star W...

Re: Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice & Fire)

I don't think Dany's fall into madness was a bad ending per se, but it was extremely poorly telegraphed. She went from just fine to crazy bitch over the course of around seventeen seconds, and for a show previously known for high quality writing, it's just such a glaring failure.

Broken Avatars

Just a heads up, it looks like something happened to the forums in the magic behind-the-scenes world of coding that broke everyone's avatars and left you all faceless. I got a new one uploaded for myself, but the rest of you are still naked.

Re: What are you listening to now?

Bill Wurtz is one of the few musicians that I truly believe has earned the title of "genre-less", and there really is no one else quite like him out there today.

Re: AWT Music Thread

I figured I'd share some of the work I've done lately. 2021 has been a musical rebirth for me, I've managed to release some sort of material at least once a month and built a new YouTube channel from 0 subs to 75 in ten months. Feels good. I've got five brand new songs out right now amongst all of t...

I can't imagine looking at a dude notorious for being a prick, seeing he's been married and divorced four times already, and thinking to myself "yeah that's the one, let's do it".

As I saw an online critic so eloquently put it, "I thankful to be alive during an era where I get to watch all of my favorite science fiction franchises get completely ruined."

Re: What are you listening to now?

Anyone ever just get tired of rock music? I've been listening to way more pop, jazz, and hip hop the past month or so, and I just can't get into any new rock acts any more.

The meat and potatoes is obviously the new remake of A Momentary Lapse of Reason . Is it better than the original? Of course it fucking is. [...] The strong tracks from before ("Learning to Fly", "One Slip", "Terminal Frost", "Sorrow") are even better [...] W...
