Nick to appear on 'The Grand Tour'

Postby Dyolf » Wed Dec 13, 2017 5:22 am

If you don't know, The Grand Tour is a British motoring/entertainment programme presented by the former Top Gear presenters Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May. The Grand Tour is currently in its second series on Amazon Video.

For the show's new series they have a new feature in which two celebrities, from the same field, compete to drive a Jaguar around a custom-made race track to see who is the fastest. Nick will feature in this against Stewart Copeland, drummer of The Police.

There is also this video on YouTube where Jeremy Clarkson and Nick have a fairly long conversation about music and cars.

Nick appeared on this week's episode of The Grand Tour on Amazon Video. He competed against Stewart Copeland for the title of "the fastest drummer for a band beginning with the letter p". Nick also spoke about his collection of 40+ cars and that his favourite car of all time is the Ferrari 250 GTO, which he bought for £35,000 and is now worth (according to Clarkson) approximately £3m. Nick won the title of "the fastest drummer for a band beginning with the letter p" by setting a lap-time of 1:21.3 around the show's half-tarmac, half-gravel track in a Jaguar F-Type, beating Copeland's time of 1:24.2.

What a prestigious honor I'm sure. LOL

Did Nick always have this love for nice cars and racing, or was it a hobby he picked up once that whole Floyd thing started bringing in some disposable income?

Well, in the show he stated that his father was an avid race driver (amateur), so a bit of both?

I need to get around to watching the segment, because I heard that Nick was absolutely hilarious throughout.

Nick and Clarkson are friends outside of TV land, so Clarkson gave a bit more time to him than he did Copeland. Nick told a few musician-related jokes, but I recommend watching the segment.

I found a site with the video. It starts at 33 minutes, for anyone who doesn't have Amazon Video.

EDIT: I got through it, and that was pretty funny.
