The Forum Rules

Postby Webmaster » Mon Nov 03, 2014 8:19 pm

When using the Floydians forum, please always keep the following set of rules in mind. Users who follow these rules will normally never get into any trouble.

In case you see somebody breaking a rule, please use the report button (the red exclamation mark) to report the post. This will notify our moderators, so that they can take action if needed.

1. Posts should not contain any material of sexually explicit, racist or taboo nature.
2. Posts should not contain personal attacks or flaming. When disagreeing with somebody, refrain from resorting to ad hominem remarks.
3. No excessive and/or unnecessary swearing.
4. The forum's language is English, and we expect all posts to be in this language. No distinction is made between American, British or other variants of English.
5. Do not flood multiple forums with the same message.
6. No advertising or SPAM links. We do allow users to promote their own music (or other art) on this forum, as long as this is not the user's only purpose for joining the forums.
7. Try to stay on topic as much as possible.
8. Try to pick a topic title that reflects the content of your thread.
9. No exchanging of bootleg records or other illegal material. This includes links to downloadable content hosted on other websites.

The purpose of this forum's rules and guidelines is to help create an environment that is inviting to as wide a spectrum of people as possible from all parts of the world, but that does not restrict the ability of users to express their political views, even if those views are controversial or unorthodox. In a world often filled with intense political turmoil and polarization of beliefs, attempts to bring opposites together to relate their views and learn from one another.

First and foremost is a website dedicated to the music of Pink Floyd and its members. Historically political themes have been interweaved as part of the fabric of their music and thus become open for discussion. Although we encourage healthy political discussion as it relates to the music of Pink Floyd or its members, we fully expect posters to be respectful of other forum members and their views.

Personal attacks and insults are not tolerated here. When replying to a post, your own post must be about the post to which you are replying, not the poster themselves. Any personal remark about another poster that - in the judgment of a moderator or administrator - could reasonably be regarded as an intentional insult in the context of that discussion will be subject to infraction. Please also keep in mind that simply saying something that's not very nice is not necessarily an insult, nor does the fact that you are offended necessarily mean that you have been insulted.

1. No offensive images allowed in avatars such as graphic violence or overtly sexual images.
2. Images used in signatures should not be larger than 400x150 pixels.

1. The post/topic will be edited/deleted, and a warning note will be added to your account.
2. Once you have three warnings, you will be temporarily banned. If you break the rules once more after this, you may be banned permanently.
3. Certain rules (such as racism and excessive personal attacks) may warrant a permanent ban immediately. This is decided on a case-by-case basis.

1. Pointless Posts and Replies - Please only post to a thread if you have something to add to it. Do not post pointless replies as it sends topics off-topic and takes momentum away from topics thus killing them. Also, please do not revive old threads unless you have something meaningful to add to them. This can be annoying for people reading the forum.
2. Games & Fun Forum - This forum has post count disabled, and we generally do not care too much about excessive amounts of posts in this forum. However, please still try to stay on topic here, and do not disrupt the games that other people enjoy playing.

2. Global Moderators maintain the forums by keeping an eye out on what is being posted, making sure that the website is a nice place for everyone. They are the ones who enforce the rules.
3. Trusted members are a group of well-established members who assist the administrators and moderators with their own input in decision making. Additionally, they maintain the approval queue for posts by new members, and regularly post threads in the News section of the forums.
4. Registered users are the standard members who post on this forum.
5. Newly registered users are users who have made fewer than 3 posts so far. When a newly registered user creates a post, it is placed in the approval queue so that moderators and trusted users can review it before making it public. Once three of your posts have been approved, you are automatically moved to the Registered users group.

Happy Floyding!

Hello Floydians.

You might have been redirected here because the website kept you from making a post. Please be aware that new users currently have a couple of restrictions on what they can do:

  • Posts including links will be disallowed.
  • Posts including curse words, or common advertisement words (such as online betting and pornography) will be disallowed.
  • Editing your profile (signature, website,...) is disabled.
  • Each of your posts will be reviewed by a moderator before it is made public.
  • All of these restrictions disappear once you have successfully posted three messages.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Thanks for your understanding.
