Live in Mexico City

Post by Alec Taylor » Sat Oct 01, 2016 6:39 pm

So I recently learned of Roger's concert(s) that he's playing in Mexico City, and holy crap look at this setlist:

1. Speak to Me / Breathe
2. Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun
3. One of These Days
4. Time
5. The Great Gig in the Sky
6. Money
7. Us and Them
8. Fearless (!!!)
9. You've Never Walk Alone (by Gerry & The Pacemakers)
10. Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts I - V)
11. Welcome to the Machine
12. Have a Cigar
13. Wish You Were Here
14. Pigs on the Wing (Part I)
15. Dogs
16. Pigs (Three Different Ones)
17. The Happiest Days of Our Lives
18. Another Brick in the Wall (Part II)
19. Mother
20. Run Like Hell
21. Brain Damage
22. Eclipse

Encore:
-Vera
-Bring the Boys Back Home
-Comfortably Numb

It's quite a setlist. I have seen pictures of the stage, which was decorated to look like the Battersea Power Station, but I can't seem to find them any more. I'm just surprised that he played The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, and Animals almost in their entirety.

Wow. That's an impressive setlist. There's a few songs in there I would have guessed he didn't even remember existed. And a cover? Roger playing a cover!? Never thought I'd see the day! :D

I really should listen to some of his solo albums...

I hope he tours near me and it's a day that I'm able to get there.

Me too, but the rock dinosaurs don't really come all that near the Kansas City area any more. It's always Denver or Cincinnati that they stop at. :(

We had Kansas and Blue Oyster Cult play a show in Des Moines earlier in the year. I think the closet David came here was Chicago. I would have went but it was during the week and with a kid in school, it wasn't possible.

I remember that show, it was during finals week at my university and I was still in-between jobs. :(

I guess I could have gone and asked if my mother wanted to watch my son. I would have felt bad. It's one thing to ask her to sit with him for a few hours, but that would have been two days and her taking care of him before and after school.

From what I hear, he's going right back into the studio soon to start work on another project. Maybe we'll get another chance?

Back on subject, does anyone else think that this Us + Them project he's teasing is related to the gigs he's done in Mexico City?
