Welcome to the Machine

Post by The Silver Lining » Fri Oct 24, 2014 8:05 am

Hi all!

If you are new, then welcome to the Floydians forum! Since we would like to get to know you a little, feel free to post a thread here, in which you give us some basic information about yourself.

Things you could include:
- Your first name
- Your location
- Your favorite Pink Floyd album
- Other bands/artists you like
- ... Many other things.

None of this is obligatory though. Feel free to leave certain things out if you're not comfortable revealing them.

Happy Floyding!

I'm Alec, Jeff is my father's name. And Steve is neither the name of my father nor myself.

Welcome to the forums, Criminally!

My name is Arno. Friends usually call me "that one guy whose name I forgot, but I think it wasn't Steve".

Interesting - most people call me "that guy" - "you know, that guy".

I guess I introduced myself in the wrong thread, so here goes:

-Aaron
-Near Boulder, CO
-Wish You Were Here, but lately it's probably been Animals
-Lots of my other favorite artists are pretty un-Floydlike, including Dispatch, Guster, Matisyahu, Kanye West, City and Colour, Eric Clapton, Dave Matthews Band and lately I've been listening to lots of hip-hop and indie folk/rock. Anyone else into that stuff?

Whoa whoa whoa. Boulder, eh? I used to live in Longmont when I was younger. (Moved back to California in 2005 (after living there for 6 weeks after birth), but lived there for 7 years. haha.)

Always nice to meet another Coloradan! I don't actually live in Boulder anymore, but I went to school there. Now I live closer to Longmont haha.

- Criminally
- The bowels of hell
- Animals

I like music with meaning, purpose, and substance, and if it doesn't have that it had better rock the place to the ground. I like most '60s rock, as long as it's not hippie flower-power pop (the Beatles excluded) or over-the-top progressive (I don't consider Floyd prog). Floyd, Who, Beatles, Hendrix, Cream, Dylan, the works. '70s music I enjoy is pretty much anything with meaningful lyrics or at least a lot of organ. I like some punk, but if there's not a valid point to be made, I don't care. I like wordsmiths like Bruce Springsteen and Elvis Costello. The '80s... Ugh. The underground scene had some great stuff but glossy synths drive me up the wall. I also like modern European surf rock revivalists, for what it's worth.

Did I miss anything?
